Mission Mowing was created to help those who are unable to care for their lawn and landscaping, due to age, declining health, or injury. We also extend our services to those who have served in the US Military. The idea of Mission Mowing started in 2019 when my grandfather, Robert McEldowney, now 86 and a United States Army Veteran, ran into health struggles that resulted in not being able to care for his lawn and landscaping. Owning lawn equipment and a trailer allowed my father and I to lend a helping hand to my grandfather but found that we never got to spend undistracted quality time with him. We encountered many stories within our West Michigan community experiencing a similar conflict, family time was spent outdoors focused on lawn care rather than visiting with their loved ones. In some cases, outdoor maintenance was the difference between an individual staying in their home or having to move to a nursing home.
Our mission is to bring hope, remove stress, restore independence, redeem quality time, rebuild dignity until individuals regain maximum independence and self-sufficiency.
After I was diagnosed with cancer, treatments left me unable to keep up with homeowner responsibilities. Mission Mowing relieved me of those duties. Instead of worrying about who would help clean up my leaves in the fall or maintain my yard during months spent in the hospital, I was able to focus on my healing and my journey through fighting cancer." -Sami S.
